Noise from engine

the car runs great, no power loss or faults showing. Fuel use perfect.
there is a rattling noise coming from the top of the engine what sounds like a loose tappet on an old engine, any ideas please

Hard to tell without hearing , but could be a sticking hydraulic tappet .On that car if fitted , timing belt will be due for replacing .You can get hydraulic tappet cleaner which you add to engine .Good idea to change oil and filter especially if not been done for a while .
