Fault in EGR valve

2007 Ford Focus 2.0 l auto Ghia
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2007
Variant: 2.0 l auto Ghia
Categories: Leaks & Noises
report from diagnostic check at Ford main dealer reads.
The faults logged in cars pcm were for the EGR stepper motor suggesting that the EGR is stuck open/shut and has failed a flow test. The second was for the swirl flaps in the intake manifold which would usually be caused by broken flaps but there is no rattle sound from manifold. Codes on pcm have been cleared but after road test came back. Recommend removal of EGR and possibly the inlet manifold may require new EGR valve and inlet manifold, may find wiring fault of faulty pcm.

This is the report, my question is how much would you expect to repair this. I don't think it is something for a d.i.y. er. If I go to a one man band with diagnostic kit would he be able to do the job and what would be the possible charges. If too pricey would sell with the information I have as the car with 104000 on the clock is a nice tidy motor with MOT until February 2016 and has some worth probably put it on eBay.Fault light appeared the day of the MOT
