Handbrake dashboard light always on

2001 Ford Focus 2.0 zetec
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2001
Variant: 2.0 zetec
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
When handbrake is in off position the red indicator light on the dashboard stays illuminated. It flickers a bit whilst driving but remains on. I am able to push the car with little effort and to drive so i know the handbrake is off, but the light remains on at all times.

the only thing it can be is the brake fluid level is low that is why the light could be on top up the brake fluid level and you should have no more probs

it sounds like it could be wiring plug switch which is located by your handbrake behind the plastic cover might be able to adjust it

sounds like brake fluid being low, top up, may be worth getting the brakes checked, possible low pads, or if its its drums on the back might be a leaking wheel cylinder?
