2001 Ford Focus starts, but will not run

Stopped to refuel,,, car started but will not move forward or reverse,, turned car off/on, no change.. checked fluids, all OK,, never had transmission problems, no slipping, no jumping... all was working fine... had to tow it.. still starts fine.. trans will not engage..

Well either the clutch has gone,
which can happen like you describe,
I've seen them torn apart with no reported nasty noises!
Or a selector fault.
And I've also seen f/w/d vehicles with failed C/V joints that would give your symptoms.
Best bet would be getting a mobile tech in for a look see.
Or it's time to tow to a garage.

1. The car is automatic
2. Just had new cv joints put in
3. Where does the shift, connect to the transmission,, maybe the levers got disconnected or something...
4.. So it is not electronic, right..
