I HAVE RECENTLY FOUND THAT MY FOCUS HAS OCCURRED A JUDDERING WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STANDING START ???
I HAVE ALSO STARTED TO HEAR A WHINNING WHICH I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS THE WHEEL BEARRING....
I HAD TAKEN THE CAR OUT EARLIER THIS EVENING AND WHEN I WENT INTO SECOND AND PUT THE FOOT DOWN I COULDN'T GET IT TO GO INTO ANY GEAR SO I STOPPED TURNED THE CAR OFF PUT IT IN GEAR STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND STARTED TO LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE CLUTCH AND IT WAS LIKE A CAT SQUEALING AND IT MADE A WEIRD GRINDING KIND OF NOISE SO I TURNED IT OFF AGAIN AND KEPT IT IN FIRST GEAR STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT PULLED AWAY PUT THE JUDDERING IS STILL PRESENT AND VERY WORRYING....
I HOPE SOMONE OUT THERE CAN HELP AS MY WIFE AND TWO SONS USE THE CAR EVERYDAY AND I LIKE TO KEEP THERE SAFETY FIRST SO THE CAR IS OFF THE ROAD UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GONE WRONG???????????????

Sounds like your clutch has gone / worn out .You may also have a bearing gone but would get clutch checked out first as you could lose all drive and be left at the side of the road .

IT DOESN'T SEEM AS IF IT'S THE CLUTCH AS IT ISN'T GRINDING INTO GEAR OR SLIPPING OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT AS IT IS ONLY JUDDERING WHEN YOU MOVE OFF FROM A STANDING START FOR ABOUT 2O/30 FEET THEN IT SEEMS TO DRIVE NORMALLY AND GOES INTO GEAR PERFECTLY ??????

Is the car a diesel or petrol ?

If diesel with the dual mass flywheel , that could be your problem .If petrol , the squeal could be the flywheel bush / bearing .The juddering could be caused by the springs on the centre plate gone .If you think it's not the clutch , check all the engine and g/box mountings which often need replaced .

I HAVE BEEN OUT IN THE CAR EARLIER AND IT SEEMS AS IF THE PROBLEM IS COMING FROM THE NEARSIDE FRONT BUT I HAVE HAD IT INTO A M8'S GARAGE AND ON THE LIFT AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO SIGN OF ANYTHING DAMAGED/BROKEN OR OTHERWISE,SO IT SEEMS TO BE A MYSTERY ?????

Did you check the previous suggestions ? Did your mate test the car ? What did he suggest was the fault ?

NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT BUT I THINK MY M8 CAN'T BE BOTHERED CHECKING PROPERLY AS HE DOES STOCK CAR RACING AND DOESN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE:(
