Blue grey smoke from the exhaust

2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2008
Variant: 1.6 TDCi
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
I have blue/grey smoke coming out of my exhaust, occasionally. This usually happens as I slow down for the roundabout when coming off the motorway. I take my foot of the accelerator, let the car coast up the ramp and hey presto, blue/grey smoke. I don't see it when I'm accelerating away from a junction or when cruising along at 60-70mph, only when easing up. The engine is not noisey and has plenty of power. The DPF was removed last year when that clogged up and the EMS reprogrammed for that.
What is the cause of this smoke? Is it easily fixable? Is it costly? Is it the sign of impending doom? The car has approx 90K on the clock.
