Engine stalls under acceleration when cold.

2007 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.6 TDCi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I've owned my car since Feb 2011. It had 59K on the clock. At just over 75K the DPF failed and my local specialist removed this and reprogrammed the EMU. Recently the car has been stalling when accelerating. If the revs exceed 2000 to 2500 the engine just cuts out. There are no warning lights and no dashboard error messages. I can restart the engine whilst the car is still rolling and drive away. The problem seems to go away once the engine is up to temperature, although I'm not confident that it won't happen.

Fuel Filter:
Clogged up, starving the engine of fuel under acceleration.
When the engine's cold it uses more fuel anyway, so the acceleration asks for more fuel than can get through the clogged up filter.
As the engine warms, the fuel usage drops which means that enough can get through the filter to feed the acceleration.
New Filter fitted, problem gone away :)
