2002 Ford Focus heat shield hanging loose

Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2002
Variant: 1600
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
I am registered disabled and i have a problem which i am convinced has been done by those stupid road humps , that is some of the heat shield has worked loose from the exhaust , i only realised this was happening when i could hear a scraping noise when i was going oer a bump , as i cannot get under the car now will it be a easy cheap job to do , ie is it only a couple of nuts which must have worked loose when i was going over a bump , as it seems to be only one side which is affected

A lot of heatshields are just held on with small spot welds which eventually rust/ break off. If you go into any exhaust centre they will have a look and see whats needed , should be FOC . Sometimes you can reweld in place ,but often people just sling the shield . Dont let them bottle you up with a new exhaust , s/absorbers . tyres etc !!!!!! Hate those speed bumps also ,all the best .
