2005 Ford Focus cat?

Hi I have a focus 05 plate, engine light on poor acceleration especially in higher gears sat around 3k rpm also under load, code is p000a garage thinks its the cat starting to block, its a twin cat, any ideas?

P000A results from the following:

Poor oil quality / Poor oil pressure.
Incorrect cam timing.
Faulty VCT solenoid.
Faulty CMP sensor.
Faulty VCT.

They do have a small gauze filter in the head, in the oil ways to the VCT solenoids, and its a non serviceable part !

Any ideas on a fix and cost...also exhaust sound a bit iffy
