2004 Ford Focus C-Max battery light flashing, and steering problems

Just had a fonecall from my maye, suffering these problems with his Focus c-max, wondering if anyone knows the likely cause? I was thinking battery/alternator related until he mentioned the steering....

Looks like you are correct if his car has EHPS - ( Electric Hydraulic Power Steering ). Test alternator output .

Cheers, was the alternator, got a further sos as it packed in completely...
