I have had the same problem for over a year now. I took my car to Ford Main dealer and they could find no fault. Happens only occasionaly and recently did it again when cold weather. I believe this is the same engine and transmission found in the Citroen C5 2.0 HDI. I have seen a number of posts about a similar problem on this car: apparently this has been traced to faulty oil seal and oil contamination on the friction material of the clutch.
