my car coughs and splutters and lacks power at times,i was told it could be the battery so i changed that and had faults cleared and it ran the best ever then next day it was back to spluttering, had full service 2000 miles ago any ideas thanks Jaun

From what you say re. battery , might be worthwhile getting alternator output tested . Simple two min job .
