2006 Ford Focus C-Max intermittent screeching/ squeling sound from far side when driving

Hiya,
Hope you can guide me on this.
We got a ford c-max (used) less than a month ago and as of yesterday, when I was returning home from a supermarket, I left the windows open. While driving -2nd to 3rd gear, average speed 30 to 40 mph , I heard some screeching sound from the left side and could not figure about what it was.
Quick observation under the car did not reveal anything and also checked if anything was loose. Cant figure out exactly where it is comeing from but do know its intermittent.
Today I drove for about 4 miles and did not hear but on my way back it started after a while and stopped.
My friend advised it could be brakes or pads.
Car is under warranty but I am curious to know if this is serious. I had turned down the extended warranty and have ford's default 3 month after sale warranty,

well while you still have the warranty get the car back before the warranty expires or will cost you and you will be kicking your self for not taking it back and taking advantage of the warranty as could be the brakes making the noise or could be something else but need to be taken back for inspection and resolved

The car was taken in today and I just ended the car with the dealer. They said they did not find any fault in the car. They also said they did a thorough check. My question was 'did you do a test drive ' and the reply was in the affirmative.
They have told me that if I am still concerned then I can book a test drive with their technician if we hear the sound again.
From the time I posted the question I have not hear it - maybe it is fixed ? we will have to see
