Transmission malfunction

2006 Ford Focus C-Max 1999 cc Auto
Car: Ford Focus C-Max
Year: 2006
Variant: 1999 cc Auto
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The message, Transmission Malfunction keeps coming up on the dash board, orange warning light comes on as does the engine management symbol. The engine has also misfired on one occasion just before the message came up. It can happen at any time and can right itself just as quickly. I have had it checked by an automatic gear box specialist and also at a Ford Main dealer and none of them can tell me what the problem is. Ford main dealer re-booted the on-board computer and installed all of the latest updates. The problem re-occurred within 24hrs of leaving the dealership.
Please, can anybody help me to solve my problem?

does the gearbox operate ok if so check battery then alternator charge rate check spark plugs/leads the random misfire could be the cause of your problem so needs to be looked at before moving onto the gearbox
