2003 Ford Focus C-Max poor starting

Car: Ford Focus C-Max
Year: 2003
Variant: 2.0 Turbo diesel
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Since changing the fuel filter I have had a problem with starting the car. It was sucking in air as bubbles could be seen in the clear pipe. Removed and resealed the fuel filter, no bubbles seen in the pipe anymore but for the last 6 months or so the starting is getting progressively worse and flattening the battery. Battery has been checked and is in good condition. Once the car has started, we have no problems with it, pulls like a train, we tow a caravan with no problems. ANY IDEAS?

Could still be a problem with the same seal. Try a brand new seal and be very careful when refitting....
