Have to hit dashboard for car to start!

2005 Ford Focus C-Max
Car: Ford Focus C-Max
Year: 2005
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The warning lights on my wife's Focus C-Max started flashing then when she stopped it wouldn't start again. My mechanic put it on his computer and it showed it to be the speed sensor. I had this replaced but the problem re-surfaced, all the lights come on and the car doesn't start. Had it fully checked again and nothing appeared on the computer.

However, as you do, I gave the dashboard a bang above the steering wheel then turned the key and it started! Now, all you need to do is hit the dashboard in order to start the car. Does anyone know what this is? Would it be just a short connection under the dash?

Hi Alex, it does sound like a short circuit. Not sure how easy it is to remove the dash, but start by removing the cowl around the steering colum to check those wires and connection as this is fairly easy.
Not much help i no but worth a try.
