2000 Ford Fiesta oil leak

i notice the other day i had oil leak coming from the transmission unit next to the clutch housing at the front of the car any ideas where is might be coming from and could it be serious also i use to have acar mechanic called pops any idea if he is still in newark

could be either the engine oil seal that is located behind the flywheel or the transmission seal but either one of these will require the gear box to be removed for inspection have a look to see if there is a rocker cover oil leak that might be leaking and running down in to the transmission

you need to find out whether it's engine or transmission oil leak. the latter can be recognised by it's strong smell ( that's assuming it's not an auto transmission )as you don't say.get back if you want more help. regards dj dave.
