2001 Ford Fiesta engine warning light on and speedo not working

Car: Ford Fiesta
Year: 2001
Variant: 1.25 Endura
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
The speedo failed on my 2001 fiesta recently shortly followed by the engine warning light coming on. The car is driving normally. Does the EEC have logic that will put on the warning light as a result of driving the car with an inoperative speedo?
I presume that the light can only be extinguished with the appropriate fault code reader.

The failed speedo is associated with a garage doing a clutch change - wire not disconnected? It is not practical to take the car back as the garage is 200 miles away.

Would appear they could have damaged either speed sensor or possibly wiring / loose when the done your clutch .

check the wiring going to the speed sensor and physically check the sensor for damage as could of been done when clutch changed, check your fault codes as well
