1999 Ford Fiesta boot not opening

The boot on my fiest wont open with the key. Is this a common fault and is there a quick and cheap fix. Do's the mechanism in the lock break regularly. thanks in advance

If key turning ,case of pulling boot trim off and seeing what problem is .

The locks and keys wear on most of the fords you can try some wd40 down barrell but you will probably need a boot lock kit which you can build to your original key
