2010 Ford Fiesta front windscreen wipers stop midway in rain

To whom it may concern,
I am a pensioner, I own a Ford Fiesta 1.2 2010, is a really good car and I am unable to afford to replace it, however, my windscreen wipers stopped working when on the motorway as it was raining hard, they suddenly stopped for no apparent reason, both wipers in the middle of the screen, they would no longer work, I was so frightened being unable to see, I pulled off at the next exit, switched engine off and back on it started to work thus able to get home. I have had my car in two reputable garages whom have both replaced windscreen wiper motors and both are puzzled as to why I am having the same problem when it rains.
I am so restricted to staying at home when it rains, have you please any ideas suggestions what it might be please. Your knowledge would be much appreciated.

First thing I would check is fuse # 5 - 20amp windscreen wipers . Check the fuse itself and that is fitted securely in fuse box . If that's o.k , I would check wiper linkage is free and not seizing up as if it was , it would put extra load on wiper motor . Normally this would be checked by most when replacing the motor , but not always . Whilst in there checking this I would also check the rainwater drains in each corner at the bulkhead are not blocked and needing cleared . If blocked the build up of rain water could possibly get into the fusebox causing problems
