Ignition Switch difficulty starting car.

Could be a combination of both . Not that expensive to buy and usually plenty on the likes on e bay

Is this a common fault ? Has anybody else had this problem ? Was fine, then suddenly difficult to start with the key in the normal position, Found it started easier pudhing the key to the sides of the ignition, getting worse now. No problems with the car when runnlng.
