Electrical problem with dashboard

When the car is locked, the lights on the dashboard stay on and won't go off. When I am driving, the warning light claiming the boot is open

The lights on dash stay on for a while after locking car , they are on a timer . Probably water in boot lock or damaged wiring at top of tailgate .

I know they are on a timer, unfortunately the lights don't go off.
