Continual smell of exhaust fumes inside the car from starting so have to drive around with windows open......can anyone give me some idea to what's causing this.......thank you

Exhaust leak , manifold / gasket leak any engine hoses , breathers off or split ?

These engines are notorious for failing injector seat seals going bad,
Usually easy to spot as injector/combustion blow back accumulates around the base of the injector/cylinder head.
Looks kind of like old varnish.
