i have 1.4 fiesta zetec. my car goes through low gears no problem,but going from 4th to 5th engine noise increases and car feels like its revving although does not exceed 2000rpm..car has become 40 mph plodder,and any faster causes excessive noise.wife took to local garage and told clutch was fine but gear sensor mentioned problem ? any ideas as to what this is as i cannot find any info on this thanks

Dont really know what the gear sensor is that they say is faulty .
