Over revving after changing up gears

For some reason every time I change gear as soon as I touch the accelerator the engine revs way too high, settles down then the car picks up speed I have check oil, tyre pressure everything is ok any ideas?

Sounds like your clutch is slipping .

Only thing is aswell that it doesn't happen all the time and seems to fade away when my petrol tank goes down to half full or half empty depending on opinion

Might not slip if you dont acclerate hard .
