2007 Ford Fiesta cant drive off revs to low

Q. fiesta zetec. why do i have to wait 5-10 mins for rev counter to climb to the number 1 position before i can drive off (cold start) if i try, it cuts out. had diagnostic check done couldnt find anything any ideas ...thx

Change engine coolant temp sensor .Let s ecu know cold start and more fuel needed , just like old choke .
