2007 Ford Fiesta need some advice please

Car: Ford Fiesta
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.25 Style Climate
Categories: Gearbox & Clutch
The problem relates to my girlfriends fiesta. She bought it in march this year for just over £4k from a franchised dealer and the clutch is slipping already. An extended warranty was also purchased but the warranty company and the dealer don't want to know saying its wear and tear. Surely considering the amount of money paid she should not be having this problem a few months later. Any comments welcome, cheers

If there was any problems with the clutch on test drive it should have been reported and fixed prior to purchase .You have no hope of getting it replaced under warranty I'm afraid .If a part had failed / broke etc then you could claim against warranty , but they will just class a slipping clutch as wear and tear .

Thanks thats sort of what i thought. Im a fiesta man and as soon as i drove it i noticed the clutch bite point was very high compared to my car but this was after the sale had been concluded. My girlfriend knows nothing about cars and was only give a short test drive

yes a slipping clutch would have been rejected as wear and tear but difficult gear selection could have been put down to a concentric slave cylinder fault meaning you would have got the labour and cylinder under warranty and you would have just had to pay for a new clutch plate and pressure plate the garage would have been paid under warranty claim and you would have been happy and you would have used garage for any service repair work and you might have even bought your next car from them they used to call it looking after the customer

High clutch bite point should have set of alarm bells , but no ones perfect .The other thing you get on that car is the centre plate sticking / not sliding freely on the spigot shaft splines .
