1996 Ford Fiesta lack of grip

my fiesta is having a grip problem, it has had brand new tyres (all 4 are brand new) their pressure is good, tracking is fine my machanic feels that the front wheels are slipping and not gripping as they should but cant see any reason for it.
it did have someone plow down the drivers side (from the damage done aparently it was done with something with those big bar grill things...) (over 3000 pounds worth of damage) the machanic said he fixed all the problems caused by the hit and run
has anyone had this sort of problem as it's gotten to the point where i don't feel safe in it.

i suspect the car is not straight. i would have a full geometry check done to confirm this, but my guess is it out of spec on front camber.
