Radio not working

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Have recently purchased for one of the family a 2003 fista Lx 1.2. The car was purchased by the trader from auction and seems very clean.
Have purchased a new key from Ford and asked them can they supply the radio code which they have.The radio will still not work, the car with ignition on and running has alot of Feedback or White noising through the speakers and nothing happens when you put the code in.The Reg number of the car comes up on the display and that is it.
Please can anyone help on what needs to be done. Ford when they had it said it will have to go back to them and leave an open cheque (not in as many words) to fix, has anyone had the same......... Heres hopeing.

Hi Kerry, I`m guessing really, but if you have white noise comming from the speakers, I would think it`s the aerial thats not connected.
If you can, take the unit out and check the connections on the back.
