1996 Ford Fiesta accelerator

My accelerator seem a little stiff and spongey and i have to press hard to pick up any speed espeacially on the motorway, i am going to wales this weekend and down want to travel in car if dangerous, also it doesnt seem to be taking water very well???

accelerator problem just replace the cable and then that is that solved but the water problem all i can say to that is keep a eye on the water level and top up as required so keep a bottle of water handy for when required but if you do start to lose water fast then you will require a garage to do the work for you
