2003 Ford Fiesta still power steering when it rains

I'm having trouble with my power steering, it is very stiff when it rains. The problem only lasts moments and once it's been turned both ways it frees up.
It started to get a bit still last year when it rained and got a bit worse as the weather got damp but this morning when it was raining hard it was really hard to get moving.
I know it will require a trip to the garage but would appreciate if anyone could tell me what the problems might be so hopefully I can avoid being taken advantage of.

there two things that i can think of there could be a problem in power steering box {not cheap} or the power steering fluild mite need replacing as its need draining and replacing thats all i can think of hope its helps
