2004 Ford Fiesta eac fail

Variant: 1.4 Diesel
Driving at 70 on the motorway, the engine cut our and a EAC Fail light came up.Subsequently the car wouldn't start.

The "EAC fail" message is the electronic accelerator control system fault warning and can be caused by different faults i.e pedal , wiring etc .Best bet would to get it scanned and see what shows .
