thanks for the answer yesterday whittinghame I bought the clip yesterday should the clip be tapped fully on as there doesnt seem to be a small groove for it to pop into,ps did the guy give me the right thing ,it looks like a washer with 4 inward flange things as if they pop into something(there doesnt seem to be anything to keep it on

That's the clip o.k , it's a spire type clip . You just push it on and the " inside legs " bite on to the shaft .
