FUSE BLOWING

my friend has an 1995 escort, but when ever h turns on the full beam fuses blow! any suggestions?

the first thing i will ask is does the fuse blow when you flash the lights if it doesnt then the swith is faulty and will require a replacement but if it doesnt then do you have the right wattage bulbs fitted the bulbs fitted should be 60w/55w power out put and do you have the correct size fuse fitted

it bloiws as soon as you turn the lights on while driving.

replace the fuse,Disconnect both headlamp bulbs and switch on the headlamps and full beam(yes they won't light up as you have unplugged them)check the fuse again, if it has blown then the problem is from the power supply from the switch, could be a short to earth or relay problem, if it does not blow then plug each one in one at a time, one of them will blow the fuse, you may even have a bulb that is faulty as sometimes when an element fails it falls straight onto the earth supply of the bulb creating what we call a dead short.
