My car when warmed up in idle keeps almost cutting out, some times it does. I am told that it could be the Idle control valve. Has anyone come across this at all?

Sounds like the idle control valve is sticking. It should be ok if you take it off and clean it

I would say idle air control valve is faulty, it is very common on fords and cleaning rarely sorts the problem.
