1993 Ford Escort cutting out

this is about my transit van not escort,the van drives great then it suddenly cuts out,but restarts on the turn of the key and might not happen again for a day or two,seems to happen when the engine is hot and also when i slow down from about 50 to stop for lights etc. any advice would be great cheers slosh

please cheak your valtinator if it is over or under powering the current..best way to cheak is after driving a while does your red battery(+) wire becomes hot? then it is valtinator needs changing..good luck,
