1999 Ford Escort engine smoking - burning smell

Burning/Electrical smell coming through car. Once car stopped smoke coming from under bonnet too.

Thermostat temperature gauge hasn't gone up - so don't think it problem there.

Any help much appreciated...

could be fuel oil or electrical run engine look for fault take great care if cant see anything wot does it smell of
