1998 Ford Escort smoke from water bottle cap just had a new radiator

there was smoke coming from my cars water bottle but wasnt showing hot so i continued to drive it and blew a rad the same day. i have had a new rad fitted when i drove it home there was smoke coming from the cap of the water bottle again! any suggestions on what could cause this?

This is a classic symptom of a head gasket failure. Worth a try to use a proprietary sealer if the leak is only very small, otherwise 'tis a head gasket replacement job.
