2000 Ford Escort heating problem

Car: Ford Escort
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.8 td
Categories: Leaks & Noises
There is no heating at all, and as this is my daughters car and it's very chilly at the moment I would apprciate any thoughts.
So far, I have replaced the thermostat, flushed the heating system, backwrad and forward.
The pipes going into the heater matrix are hot but no heat seems to get through.
The local garage is looking at it but as of last night were scatching their heads, as am I?????????????
