Engine keeps over revving

when putting your foot on the accelerator there isnt a lot of power but the engine keeps over revving. then when u change gears n put your foot down again same thing happens. when the engine is cold the car keeps cutting out dont no whether its to do with the same problem or the automatic choke.
would be grateful for any advice thank you!

sounds like the clutch is slipping recc take in for clutch check usually free as will only take 5 mins to check
