2016 Ford B-MAX oil pump stopped no warning lights came up so destroyed engine

Started car. Loud rattling noise from engine then oil light came on. Checked oil ok then engine management light came on. Towed to garage. Told engine no good now. 7000 to replace. Service due last year but shielding due to pandemic. Car only on 32000 miles

Shouldn't happen with a car of that mileage .Have heard about oil pump problems with that engine . Pity you missed the service as it may have helped in trying to get some contribution to cost of repair even though out of warranty age wise . Very unlikely now .

It's a complicated engine and very important that the engine oil and filter are regularly changed , especially if used for short stop / start journeys . There are other technical issues also .
