when i am driving can smell petrol it cuts out when i stop and its using loads of petrol

if you can smell petrol and its using alot then you have a leak some where so dont use the vehicle as its a fire hazard and have it checked out by a friendly garage mechanic that you may know and can trust with confidence

I would say that you maybe have a bad air leak on the inlet system causing it to over fuel and you are smelling the fuel vapours if you cannot see a leak, plus it would have to be a major leak for it to cut out
