2002 Fiat Stilo stop light - off side not working - tried everything?

Car: Fiat Stilo
Year: 2002
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I HAD a bad contact on the drivers side rear stop light which I checked and fixed. It has 'burnt out' somehow but I cleaned the contacts inside and refitted it to work fine.. however the off side then failed to work at all. Its not the bulb or the contacts which are fine. I changed the bulbs anyway! I checked the fuses and they all in good order. Why does the stop light off side now not work??????

how do I check for power on the feed to the stop light? the rear driving lamp comes on and the indicator works fine too! so power is getting to the contact pins.... right??

Wrong!!!!!
Each light has it's own power supply. You need to get some one to put their foot on the brake and then test for power!!!.
