the brake light bulb on the offside blows after a couple a of miles even without applying the brake pedal any ideas?

make sure you have the correct bulb fitted,also check the circuit board on the bulb holder and make sure it is`nt shorting across,check that the rear lamp is`nt filled with water

sounds like it is shorting off something check for loose wires or bare wiring
