2009 Fiat Panda loss of power and engine light - only for a moment

Car: Fiat Panda
Year: 2009
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi all! Please help I’m at a loss!

Ive taken my 2009 Panda to 3 garages now and I can’t seem to get her fixed.
when driving especially if the roads are wet or going over a bump the engine cuts out (feels like it's been put into the wrong gear and jolts) and the engine light comes on - but only happens for a second and then the power is back and the light goes off - it doesn't stall.

First garage couldn’t find a fault but cleaned all the connections and it ran fine for a few weeks.
Second garage witnessed the car losing power - again couldn’t diagnose it but cleaned the connections and again ran for a couple of weeks.
Third garage have driven the car a few times over a couple of days and it drives well and nothing is showing on their diagnostic computer.

Any other Panda owners have this problem?

Any incite would be much appreciated! I don't have the money to buy a new car and although the problem doesn't show itself for a few weeks I can't sell it on :(

If engine light comes on there should be a stored fault code which can be retrieved with the correct diagnostic scanner . It does sound like a ignition coil pack breaking down intermittently .If you intend keeping the car I would advise replacing coil packs and spark plugs also if not been done for a while dependant on mileage .

Thank you!
So far East London mechanics aren't too keen on hearing my suggestions but I'm booked in to see an Italian specialist on Monday, i'm going to suggest your fixes and hope they dont brush it off!

Common the world over with regard to mechanics and customers suggestions !! Been guilty of it myself many a time with justifications but you learn to listen to what they say as sometimes you can pick up a hint to the problem that will help . Hope you get it solved . Get back to forum if needing further advice or help ..
