I've had 2 Matiz cars, one from new in 1998 and more recently a 2001 model bought on 2005. The first one did 24,000 miles without so much as a bulb blowing - faultless. The second has been very reliable and only has two problems apart from normal wear and tear. The first was the gear change, which became very stiff and was due to a collapsed rubber bush in the end of one of the gear change cables. The bush is about the size of a 10p piece but cannot be purchased alone - you must buy the whole damn cable assembly for about £60!
