2000 Daewoo Matiz near side front brake binding causing smoke and nasty smell

Car: Daewoo Matiz
Year: 2000
Variant: SE
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi all, please can you all help?

I got a Daewoo matiz we have had new Disks fitted new pads fitted. I have had it checked by numerous garages and all say brakes are ok, but when we travel anywhere for more than 10 mins the near side front brake smells when we stop its smoking and very hot. AA looked at this and freed up the pads and have made sure everything is working as it should but still we get the same problem. Strange thing is when driving the Car does not pull to that side and free wheels fine as if there is nothing wrong?

Just for the record the Caliper is allso free moving and the brake cylinder has been stripped and cleaned and all should be working 100% but still we have the same problem!

Two person job: lift up front of the car on some bricks, make sure hand brake is on and front wheels are free, switch engine on, work with accelerator and brakes. Then you should see what's wrong. Do not remove wheels because you will do damage to brake discs. And remember - wheels will do different direction spins.

Turns out it was the caliper sticking on a intermitiant basis, The Caliper was replaced and i have had no more problems since.

I got the garage to run the wheels as suguested on the ramp and keep applying the breaks. I took a 5 mins before it occured and the garage then could see the problem.
