2000 Daewoo Lanos problem with driver's door

Car: Daewoo Lanos
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.6 SX Auto
Categories: Leaks & Noises
When I open the Drivers Door the interior light does not come on and it does not show up on my dash board that there is a door open. I have had the door panel off and I cant see any loose wiring or anything. Interior light works fine when I open any other door and it shows up on dashboard when other doors are open. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Hi,
First of all you need to know how the circuit operates, have a look at all the door appertures and look for the presence of pin switches, these are simple push switches that provide an earth to the lighting circuit when the doors are open, if this is the case then check for corrosion on the drivers door switch or possiblly with this being the most used door the connector could have come off the back. If it does have pin switches it will have a switch incorperated into the door catch assembly.
