2017 Dacia Sandero no brake lights

Car: Dacia Sandero
Year: 2017
Variant: 1.0 SCE 75
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I bought this new in 2017. while it was under warranty the brake lights failed and they fitted a new pedal switch. It has only done 5500 miles due to ill health and they have failed again. Due to cost i would like to repair it myself. I have checked the fuse and both bulbs, as they were ok i fitted a new switch. Still no brake lights. Can you help.
Many Thanks
Bob.

I would remove the switch and with ignition on , bridge same and see if now operating . If so , it would tend to show it was an adjustment . clearance of switch at pedal or switch plunger fell out .

Hi. Thanks for your reply.
When i fitted the new switch i only connected the plug and left it hanging on the wires, this way the brakes should be on with the ignition on so it cant be adjustment.

I dont get you " leaving the switch hanging " It depends how the switch operates i.e if it needs pushing in to complete the circuit and work the lights

when fitted to the pedal the switch is fully depressed and when you press the pedal the pin is released.

The switches I have replaced work the opposite way and were activated when pin was pushed in by the pedal .Your car must be different .

I have looked inside the old switch and as i said the contacts are together when the pin is released.
