2000 Citroen Xsara car alarm activating intermittantly

Standard factory fitted car alarm starts up for no apparant reason. Seems to be not dependant on conditions etc. Cannot see any visual reason. Is there anything to check? Would a diagnostic hightlight any probs?

I'd get it checked out on a diagnostics machine. We don't really like to have discussions about car alarm systems on here for obvious reasons.

Sorry, I didn't mean to ask how to disable the alarm, just wondering if anyone else knew of the problem and if it could be fixed. Please remove the question if possible, I will investigate the problem elsewhere. Thanks, Paul
